UNRISE in The Kyiv International Economic Forum 2025

Publication date: 21/10/2025

The Kyiv International Economic Forum once again brought together representatives of business, politics, the military, and social sectors to discuss the future of Ukraine.

Here are several insights and quotes shared by UNRISE CEO Iryna Palko:

1. “There is no country in Europe with such growth potential. It is hard to find a better place for investment, because Ukraine is a country of opportunities”. Adam Sikorski, Chairman of the Board, UNIMOT S.A.

2. The Ukrainian market is highly competitive. Therefore, if a Ukrainian company can withstand competition here, it can certainly withstand it in the EU market.

3. “In the streets of the EU, you constantly hear people complaining, while in Ukraine, despite difficult circumstances, people act fast and solve problems. I love this about Ukraine and you should be proud of it”. Topi Paananen, CEO, Peikko Group.

4. “Most foreigners currently do not have an accurate perception of what life in Ukraine is really like. It is important to bring investors and CEOs here, and they will realize they want to invest. One of the recommendations for shifting perceptions is the film series ‘Kyiv of Mine’”.  Thomas Brunner, Co-founder & CEO, Agroplus 2006.

5. It is important to invest now because entering the market after the war will be significantly more expensive.

6. Interaction between the state, business, and the military is steadily increasing. Representatives of all these groups understand the necessity of cooperation for the future.

7. The question of Ukraine’s future vision is becoming more critical. Who should formulate it? Small groups have long been working on it, but will a shared, inspiring vision, one that guides everyone’s actions, ever be created? And who is responsible for this?

8. Human capital is our strength.

9. Oleksandr Usyk reminded everyone that achieving results is a long process. Despite the difficult path, it is important to keep a sense of humor and simply continue moving forward. He mentioned that monks on Mount Athos often tell him: “Fast and easy is a collapse”. That is why discipline matters. There is no motivation, there is routine. You wake up at 4:45, not because you want to, but because the routine is necessary for the result.

10. There is no long-term capital on the Ukrainian market.

That is why we at @unrise.ua continue to systematically “break this rock” and attract capital for the growth of Ukrainian businesses from international institutional investors.
